I know that I have been a large proponent of online shopping. This year my husband and I did most of our shopping at stores like Amazon.com, Overstock.com, etc. There were quite a few discounts, coupons, and promotions going on. Everything came on time and as we expected them.
But let me tell you...the returning part...NO SO EASY.
So what I realized is that not everyone including myself is so so snazy with buying online.
Couple of issues that we came across:
Issue #1: Some sites like amazon or pricegrabber will show you the product and then direct you to their website when you are ready to purchase.
Return: The initial website that we went to might have offered a great return policy, but where the actual product came from may not...
Example: My husband went to Zappos to purchase me Ugg Slippers. Somehow he was directed to the Ugg website and ended up buying it directly fromUgg. Zappos return policy is fantastic, Ugg's not so great!! They make you pay for the return shipment.
Example: I received a great gift from LandsEnd. Unfortunately the size was too big and I had actually already received a similar item from someone else.
So I decided to return it. LandsEnd allows you to return it to Sears...I went on my merry way only to realize that it was purchased from LandsEnd through Amazon!! Ugh
Had to go to the post office, pay for shipping to send it to LandsEnd... Quite a headache indeed.
Moral of the story, make sure that if you are purchasing something for either yourself or a someone else, understand the return policy..
I have personally found www.zappos.com to having the best shipping policy.
Free shipping and Free returns!!
Happy Shopping!!

Thanks for sharing your shopping experiences.!! Online shopping looks very easy and user friendly. However, there are still lots of problem during our shopping time on the Internet.
andrew shopped on line at norstroms and sports authority. both came in on
> time.
> returns could be brought to the store (and some were). it was easy. as you
> know
> nordstrom is great all around with returns, this is just another example.
> mer
> bought ugg boots there once, and shortly thereafter caught her toe on

> time.....i brought her into the store, showed them the boot - no receipt,

> the returns....i'm usually not a fan of on line shopping for that reason :)
